Robotti Cybersecurity News
Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 20, 2026 Last updated: April 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Robotti Tech Services LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Robotti Cybersecurity News application and related website experiences that use this application (the "App").
The App is a public, read-only cybersecurity news browsing experience. It does not create user accounts, does not request direct personal profile information, and uses limited analytics to understand App usage and performance when analytics is enabled.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- the Robotti Cybersecurity News App;
- the App's widget and related MCP / ChatGPT integration surfaces;
- any page on our website that links to or embeds this App-specific experience.
If another Robotti service, page, or product collects additional data beyond what is described here, that service should have its own separate privacy notice or this policy should be expanded before use.
2. What we collect
A. Information you do not directly provide to us
The App is designed to be read-only. We do not ask you to create an account for this App, and we do not intentionally collect:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your mailing address;
- payment information;
- government identifiers;
- account passwords;
- the contents of your private files; or
- direct user profile information for this App.
B. Limited anonymized analytics we may collect
If analytics are enabled for the App, we may collect limited usage and operational data such as:
- which App tool or feature was invoked;
- the type of request made (for example, browse, query, or filter-only);
- tag or filter selections used in the App;
- the number of results shown;
- how long a tool request took to complete;
- whether an error occurred and its general category;
- which article results were displayed;
- whether an article detail view was opened; and
- whether an outbound article link was clicked.
C. Query handling
For free-text search queries, the App is designed to store only a one-way hash of the query text for analytics purposes, rather than the plain-text query itself, when analytics are enabled.
D. Article and content interaction data
Because the App displays public news articles from a curated corpus, we may store article URLs together with related analytics event records and aggregate interaction counts, such as impressions, detail views, and outbound clicks.
3. What we do not collect for this App
For this App as currently implemented, we do not intentionally store:
- user names or account handles;
- email addresses tied to App activity;
- direct message history or full conversation transcripts from ChatGPT;
- IP-address-based user profiles for the App analytics described here;
- persistent advertising profiles; or
- precise geolocation data.
4. How we use information
We use the limited information described above to:
- operate and secure the App;
- understand which features are being used;
- measure reliability and performance;
- detect errors and troubleshoot issues;
- understand which public articles are most useful to users; and
- improve the App's search, filtering, and presentation experience.
We do not use this App's limited analytics data to build advertising profiles for individual users.
5. Legal bases
Depending on your location, we may rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the App;
- your consent, where required by applicable law; and
- compliance with legal obligations.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
This App, as currently implemented, is not designed to rely on App-specific tracking cookies for analytics.
The website or hosting environment where this App is published may still use routine server logs, security monitoring, or platform telemetry to operate and protect the service.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell personal information collected through this App.
We may share limited App-related information:
- with service providers or infrastructure providers that host, secure, or support the App;
- with analytics or database providers acting on our behalf;
- when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; or
- as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
Any sharing is limited to what is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
8. Data retention
We retain App-related analytics and operational records only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- operate the App;
- measure performance and usage trends;
- investigate incidents;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- enforce our rights and agreements.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect the limited data processed by this App. No internet or cloud-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to limit data collection and reduce risk by avoiding direct user identity storage in this App's analytics design.
For example, the App's analytics design does not rely on storing plain-text search queries or building user identity profiles around App activity, although routine infrastructure and security logs may still process network and request metadata as part of operating the service.
10. International transfers
If the App or its supporting infrastructure is hosted or supported outside your jurisdiction, information may be processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your own. Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- request access to personal information;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- request deletion of personal information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Because this App is intentionally designed to avoid collecting direct identity information, we may not always be able to associate App analytics records with a particular individual.
12. Children's privacy
This App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this App. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us so we can review and address the issue.
13. Third-party links and content
The App may provide links to third-party websites, including public article publishers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. When you leave our App or website, please review the applicable privacy notices of the destination site.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and take any additional steps required by applicable law.
